Epica Orlando FL

As I'm sure many people can tell, Epica is my favorite band. Their music is so inspirational that it's really made a positive influence on my flute playing. The last time I saw Epica was in Portland, OR in 2012. During that tour, Simone was running a promotion/contest for fans to recreate one of the Requiem for the Indifferent promotional photos. I was incredibly lucky to be chosen and won a personal meet and greet in addition to the regular VIP with Simone and some of the guys on their tour bus. The prize also included MAC makeup. It was definitely one of the best concerts ever!





I asked them at the Portland show if they'd ever play in Florida again and they responded, "probably not." I was so happy with the concert experience in Oregon that I didn't mind too much. 

When Coen filled in for Oliver during Kamelot's tour in 2014, I asked if Epica would tour in Florida and he also responded, "probably not." So I figured Epica will never play in Florida. 

Luckily, they FINALLY scheduled shows in Florida! 

During the meet and greet this time, I brought my piccolo case (and left my piccolo in it) for them to sign since their music is so influential to me and really help expand my YouTube channel. When it was time for Isaac to sign it, he was like, "What's in here?" Once he saw it was a piccolo he immediately said, "PLAY IT!" I legitimately did not expect to play for them in front of everyone! I played the chorus part of Reverence. I was so nervous I was shaking like a leaf! But Simone said that most people wouldn't have done it so I was very excited that they were so nice! I posted the 'real' version on Isaac's page and I was elated to see his response: 


The rest of the concert was much more enjoyable than the one I saw in Portland. I've never heard of Starkill before and they totally blew me away! They're definitely one my new favorite bands. And Epica nailed it as expected.

Nemo Nightwish Flute Cover Sheet Music

Hello Everyone!! "Nemo" by Nightwish is probably my favorite cover to perform live; especially since it was the first song I played in an Arena as a solo artist and I couldn't be more honored to have had that experience. Recently, there was a comment on the studio version that I recorded on my channel requesting sheet music and that request has been fulfilled now! I couldn't upload the PDF or anything high resolution as it will run the risk of being taken down for 'copyright' even though this is solely for education purposes and no profits were or are being made off me posting this sheet music.  This version is the "Floor Version" if you will haha The instrumental for Nemo can be found on YouTube for you to play along with. This sheet music works for Flute or any other treble cleft C instrument (such as violin, voice, and oboe) but can also be easily transposed for other instruments. YouTube Blocked My Video!! (Canvas of Life Epica Flute Cover)

Hey Everyone! As I'm positive many people know, I did/do not write the covers that I post on my YouTube channel. With that being said, YouTube has blocked my latest cover of Epica's song, Canvas of Life. I was able to successfully upload it onto Facebook and SoundCloud so it was very disappointing to me that I am unable to share it through YT. It's even more annoying since I retrieved the instrumental accompaniment from YouTube originally. This song is one of my favorites because it was the song were I realized that doing flute covers of metal songs was possible.
